Eagle County Busted Mugshots
Booking in Eagle County takes place at the Detention Facility. The sheriff's office runs it. A jail entry gets opened, and a photograph may be attached. Filing habits differ by agency, though. Eagle Police and Avon Police write their own incident reports. Sheriff's deputies also patrol Gypsum, so that department keeps separate paperwork on the same event. A police report and the jail record are two different things. That distinction matters when you go looking.
A booking photo is just an identification image taken during an arrest or detention. The charges beside it reflect why deputies held the person at the time. For what a court eventually decided, turn to Eagle Combined Courts. That office holds the full case history and its formal result. Keep the two records straight and Eagle County busted mugshots read far more clearly.
Eagle County Busted Booking Fields
The ECSO Jail Viewer is the official source. Its detail pages may carry descriptive facts, the mugshot image, and offense information from whichever agency made the arrest. The results list shows names and booking dates. Other fields can shift from entry to entry. So leave a blank field blank. Don't guess at what might have gone there.
| Field | What it can show |
|---|---|
| Identity | Last, first, and middle name, with descriptive data when configured |
| Booking | Intake date and a detail identifier for the jail event |
| Custody | In-custody or released status, subject to rapid change |
| Charges | Offenses for which the person was originally detained |
| Case details | Arresting agency, bond, or court information when present |
| Photograph | A booking image only when ECSO makes it available |
What does a missing photograph mean? Only that no image is showing in that detail right now. ECSO deliberately uses the word "may." A system setting, a different custody path, nonpublication, or a record restriction can each leave the image area empty. It does not mean no photo was ever taken.
Request Eagle County Booking Photos
Older booking details need paper. The same goes for an Eagle County busted mugshot that is not online. Use the sheriff's Request for Records Release. This is the criminal-justice route under the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, usually shortened to CCJRA. Don't confuse it with the county's general open-records form. That form serves a different purpose.
- Identify the person, booking date or number, and arresting agency as closely as possible.
- Ask for the booking record and “booking photograph in its existing electronic format.”
- Complete the sheriff form, have it notarized, and attach the required driver's-license copy.
- Send it with advance payment to ECSO Records at P.O. Box 359, Eagle, CO 81631, or use the form's current fax route.
- Ask for a cost estimate and a written statutory or public-interest reason if access is denied.
ECSO posts no fixed price for booking photos. There is no verified retention period for how long Eagle County keeps them either. Its FAQ does say one thing about timing. Extensive or off-site report research can take up to 72 hours. A photo vanishing from the online viewer proves nothing about destruction or sealing. An image staying up does not mean the person is still in custody either.
Eagle County Mugshot Request Fees
Two fee schedules operate here. Blending them causes headaches. Sheriff materials cover ECSO criminal-justice records. The county's general open-records portal handles the broader range of county documents. For a booking image, use the sheriff-specific track. That way the right custodian ends up evaluating your request.
| Route | Published amounts |
|---|---|
| ECSO records | $5 initial-report minimum; $0.25 per page; first retrieval hour free; then $30 per hour; actual cost for nonstandard work |
| County CORA form | $0.25 per page; first hour free; then $41.37 per hour on the 2024 form |
The response language on the CORA form is not a guaranteed CCJRA timetable for booking photos. Fees and forms change. Ask for an estimate before sending payment. The current sheriff form lists a records fax line at 970-328-1882. One quirk stands out in the ECSO FAQ. Report copies go out only after the notarized request and payment clear, and they are never sent by fax.
Colorado Busted Mugshot Law
Colorado's Title 24 criminal-justice records law treats photographs as basic identification information. Agency-held images stay inside that records framework. Official-action records get strong access protection. Other records may rest on custodian discretion and public-interest limits. That framework is narrower than the claim that every Eagle County busted mugshot must be posted or handed over on demand.
C.R.S. § 24-72-305.5 is the state's distinctive booking-photo rule. It bars knowingly obtaining a photo for a publication that charges money, or that demands something else in exchange for taking it down. The ECSO form carries the required certification. Read it carefully, though. The statute creates no universal takedown right and forces nothing online. Anyone promising guaranteed official or search-index deletion for a fee is selling something the law does not deliver.
When an official record is simply wrong, § 24-72-307 offers a person-in-interest challenge route. Has a qualifying court case been sealed? Send the order to the source. Use a publisher's documented free correction or removal process where one exists. RecentlyBooked's free policy and Mugshots.com's free record-maintenance policy are secondary routes at best. None of them can promise removal from every independent page or cached result.
Seal Eagle County Booking Records
The Colorado Judicial Branch Seal My Case hub sorts its material into lanes: no-charge arrests, non-convictions, adult convictions, municipal matters, multiple cases, and juvenile expungement. Expungement is the term used for certain juvenile records. Eligibility rules, waiting periods, exclusions, restitution, and filing steps all differ from lane to lane. No single rule covers every Eagle County arrest.
Self-help staff at the Eagle County court can walk you through forms and process. They decide nothing and give no legal advice. The official court page lists 05selfhelp@judicial.state.co.us and 970-328-7036. For a no-charge arrest, the state's JDF 416 instructions cover the limitation period, diversion, and whether an investigation is still active. A sealing order changes official access. It cannot promise that every news story or private copy of the record will vanish.
Find Eagle County Busted Mugshots
Begin with the official jail source. Branch out only when the person's custody stage demands it. The ECSO Booking Search Query covers locally processed bookings. Filter by current or released status. It works as both the roster and a configurable recent-booking search. Beyond that, pickings are slim. Eagle County publishes no separate arrest log, no fixed same-day feed, and no sheriff mobile app.
- Search a name in the ECSO Viewer. Use the percent sign as a wildcard when spelling is uncertain.
- Add booking dates for intake or release dates for the end of jail custody. Choose ALL to include released people.
- Open a detail and compare names and dates. Treat any listed charge as an original charge.
- Request an existing electronic booking image from ECSO if no photograph appears.
- Use the Eagle docket and court documents for the case outcome, then CDOC only for a state corrections placement.
An empty result here does not settle the question. Maybe the name is spelled differently on file. Maybe the dates are too narrow. Switch the status filter from IN CUSTODY to ALL, loosen the date range, and try common spelling variants. Also consider other possibilities. The person may have gotten a citation instead of a booking, or landed in a jail outside Eagle County. For incidents inside the towns, the report stays with whichever agency handled it: Gypsum's contracted deputies, Eagle Police, or Avon Police.
Eagle County Busted Mugshot Channels
Start with official sources when you need a solid answer on a record. News outlets and private publishers can tip you off that something happened. Their coverage has real limits, though. They skip some bookings entirely, run behind, repeat an entry, or leave an old claim up after the case has moved on. Treat any photo or card you find there as a lead. The agency record and the court outcome are what count.
| Channel | Photo? | Status and access |
|---|---|---|
| ECSO Jail Viewer | May display | Official local booking search, including released-status filters |
| ECSO record request | Requestable | Official fallback, subject to CCJRA and restrictions |
| Colorado DOC | Record-specific | Official state corrections search, not a county arrest feed |
| Eagle Combined Courts | Not a mugshot source | Official docket, Register of Action, and disposition route |
| Vail Daily | Varies by story | Selective, event-driven journalism, not a booking list |
| RecentlyBooked | Often | Unofficial county page claiming a rolling recent period |
| Arrests.org | Often | Unofficial county archive with date and agency filters |
| Mugshots.com | Mixed | Unofficial Eagle archive observed only through 2017 |
The official ECSO Viewer notice shows why its details require care.

The notice spells out what content may appear. It also warns that details shift quickly. Readers who want to know how a case resolved are pointed to the court file, which keeps the booking entry in its lane as a jail fact rather than a legal verdict.
Official channels are not the whole story. The unofficial RecentlyBooked Eagle County page shows how a secondary discovery site works.

Its cards are publisher-created and may be stale or incomplete. Verify every identity, custody fact, allegation, and outcome with ECSO and Eagle Combined Courts.
Search Eagle County Jail Roster
One search box or several, the choice is yours. Enter a booking date to learn when intake happened. Enter a release date to learn when custody ended. A status selector splits the results into ALL, IN CUSTODY, and OUT OF CUSTODY. ECSO describes the roster as regularly updated but never names an exact hour or interval, so time-sensitive questions still deserve a call to detention staff or a check with Colorado VINE.
| Search field | Best use |
|---|---|
| Last name / first name | Use either alone or together; insert % for unknown characters |
| Booking From / To | Find intake during a chosen calendar range |
| Release From / To | Find when jail custody ended |
| Status | ALL avoids excluding a person released soon after booking |
The official booking search form displays these controls in one place.

Date ranges built into the form cover same-day lookups, multi-day sweeps, and release searches without any outside feed. Opening a detail page does not guarantee a photo, since image display stays conditional.
Eagle County Busted Roster Windows
The ECSO interface does three jobs at once. It holds a current roster, a released-person search, and booking windows you build yourself. Want today's arrests? Put the same calendar date in both Booking From and Booking To, then pick ALL. For a 48-hour, 72-hour, or weekly view, enter real start and end dates. These windows are reader-built ranges, not an official ECSO feed with a promised rolling cutoff.
Private archives keep very different spans. RecentlyBooked points to a 30-day collection. Arrests.org offers date navigation, and the Mugshots.com Eagle archive appears frozen back in 2017. Those gaps make the official source the one that counts. The ECSO Viewer publishes no maximum depth for released records, and no verified retention period exists for local booking photos.
Note: Use release dates only to learn when custody ended, since they do not reveal the original intake window.
Eagle County Arrest Alert Sequence
During an active incident, an EC Alert or an official social media post often lands before any booking becomes searchable. The alert answers the safety question of the moment. The roster answers whether the person actually entered local detention, and the court file answers what became of the case. A documented Gypsum incident followed that order exactly: a shelter notice went out, and only later did the arrest record trail appear. The alert itself never worked as a booking ledger.
Colorado VINE offers free, anonymous notice of custody changes by phone, email, text, or TTY at 888-263-8463. It can flag a release, transfer, escape, or death. It shows no mugshot and no court disposition. ECSO also publishes no official mobile app, so treat anything with a similar name as unrelated to the sheriff's office.
Eagle County Arrest Transfer Gaps
Along the I-70 corridor, the arrest spot, the arresting agency, and the booking destination are not always the same place. Vail Daily reported on people arrested locally in connection with a Westminster case. They ended up moved toward Adams County custody. An empty ECSO result can simply mean another jail holds the person. Citation release, juvenile procedure, medical diversion, and federal custody all reroute the path too.
Take the facts one at a time. First confirm which agency made the arrest. Then ask which facility took the person in. Eagle County intake points to ECSO. A jurisdiction holding someone on its own warrant points to that jurisdiction's custody source. Never read a transfer, detainer, or release into a single blank result.
Eagle County CDOC Photo Lookup
The Colorado Department of Corrections Offender Search starts at a later custody stage. Its fields include a six-digit DOC number, first and last name, gender, and a CAPTCHA. A DOC number is not an Eagle County booking number. A short county jail stay may never produce a CDOC profile, while a state corrections record can matter long after county release.
Start with the DOC number when you have it. Check any name match against official details. The interface returns offender results, but a photo is not promised on every profile. When the image or record you need is missing, the CDOC records route lets you request an existing record with a fee estimate. The official CDOC search form displays the state-level fields.

Save this search for after a qualifying state placement. For a fresh local arrest, the ECSO Viewer remains the right tool.
Eagle County Busted Custody Stages
Checking the custody stage first prevents the most common search mistake. "Booked" means jail intake, nothing more. "Released" means jail custody ended, though the case itself may continue. A disposition is the court's result. A detainer is a separate authority's request about custody. Neither a mugshot nor an empty search can tell you a detainer exists.
| Person's stage | Correct Eagle County or official source | Photo rule |
|---|---|---|
| Just booked or locally detained | ECSO Jail Viewer and detention staff | May appear |
| Recently released | ECSO release-date search, status ALL or OUT OF CUSTODY | May remain; duration unknown |
| Court case | Eagle docket, Register of Action, disposition order | Not the photo source |
| Colorado corrections | CDOC Offender Search and records | Profile-specific |
| Federal sentence | BOP Inmate Locator | No photo |
| ICE detention | ICE Online Detainee Locator | No photo |
Two national lookups sit apart from any Eagle County jail roster. The BOP locator tracks federal prisoners back to 1982, though it shows no photos. The ICE locator handles ICE custody and some longer CBP holds; it bars searches for minors and offers no images either. Neither one tells you who is in the local detention facility right now.
Eagle County Booking Court Outcomes
After a booking, the court takes over the paper trail. The Eagle-filtered public docket lets you search by court, date, case number, party, or attorney. A docket line only logs scheduled or completed activity. For a firm result, ask the clerk for the complaint, the Register of Action, or the disposition and sentence order.
Eagle Combined Courts sits at 885 Chambers Avenue, P.O. Box 597, Eagle, CO 81631. The main line is 970-328-6373. Fill out the printed court research request form and allow three to five business days. The court charges its own fees under that schedule, separate from ECSO record fees.
- Booking
- Jail intake and the record made at that point.
- Arraignment
- A court appearance addressing the charge and plea process.
- Bond
- A court-set condition tied to release; it is not a finding of guilt.
- Disposition
- The formal outcome of the case or charge.
Eagle County Juvenile Mugshot Limits
Colorado Title 19 wraps juvenile records in special access rules and expungement protections. Nothing indicates Eagle County publishes youth booking photos through its standard adult portal. When the law restricts identifying details, an unofficial picture cannot lawfully fill that void.
A Vail Daily story about an Eagle school-threat arrest took one approach. It identified the youth without a name or mugshot. That was one outlet's editorial choice. It does not bind anyone else. Court access, agency disclosure, and expungement each turn on the governing statute and the facts of the case.
Eagle County Busted Charges Change
Local reporting shows why a booking allegation must be followed forward. Vail Daily has covered an Eagle County booking and, in another matter, later reported that charges were cleared. News can supply chronology, but only the official case record establishes the legal result. A stale arrest card may never reflect that later development.
Use three separate questions: What allegation did ECSO record at intake? What developments did a news outlet report? What outcome does the court file show? The answers may differ without any source being interchangeable. Restricted or suppressed files can also limit public access, and a missing document does not permit a conclusion about guilt, dismissal, or sealing.
Eagle County Mugshot Archives
ECSO posts no verified retention period for booking photos and keeps no historical arrest archive. For an older Eagle County booking photo, start with a CCJRA request to the sheriff's office. A record might be sealed, expunged, destroyed under an adopted schedule, or simply unavailable. When an entry vanishes from the Viewer, the reason stays unknown.
History buffs have another avenue. The Colorado State Archives search holds named photo collections from state corrections, including prisoner and reformatory series. Those are state prison holdings, not an extension of the county jail database. No Eagle County sheriff mugshot series turned up there. Give the archives staff a full name, an approximate date, the institution, and any known series or call number. They will confirm whether an image exists and how to reach it.
Eagle County Busted Mugshot Cities
The three CITY MAP towns feed one county booking hub. Incident reports, though, split among their own police departments. Each local page maps the ECSO roster and court routes onto that agency. None of the three posts a public municipal arrest blotter or daily bulletin on its official site.
- Gypsum Busted Mugshots: ECSO provides contracted police service, keeps the deputy report, and manages any local jail booking.
- Eagle Busted Mugshots: Eagle Police keeps the city incident report; ECSO keeps the detention record; Combined Courts supplies the outcome.
- Avon Busted Mugshots: Avon Police handles its report and media records, while ECSO owns the county booking image.
When local detention is needed, the Eagle County Detention Facility is the usual destination. It is not the only one. A citation release, an out-of-county warrant, juvenile procedure, or a transfer can route the record somewhere else entirely.
