Gypsum Busted Arrest Route
Gypsum's police setup is unusual but easy to follow. The Town of Gypsum contracts with the Eagle County Sheriff's Office for patrol services. No separate Gypsum Police Department keeps its own reports. When an ECSO deputy arrests someone in town and detention follows, booking happens at the Eagle County Detention Facility. ECSO controls that jail intake record and any booking photograph it chooses to display or release.
The 2020 Census counted 8,040 residents on April 1. That makes Gypsum the largest incorporated town in Eagle County on a consistent measure. Size does not earn it a city jail or arrest feed. The county budget treats the detention facility as the central holding place for county agencies, local departments included. Not every arrest becomes an Eagle County booking, though. A citation, a juvenile procedure, a medical need, an immediate release, an outside warrant, or a transfer can send a case down a different route.
Where Gypsum Busted Mugshots Appear
Start with official channels. The town's own pages carry no public Gypsum arrest log, daily bulletin, police blotter, or standing booking feed. One ECSO interface handles both current-roster and recent-booking searches. Its detail screens may include a booking photograph, though ECSO hedges its language there. A missing image does not mean no photograph was taken.
| Channel | Photo? | Status | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| ECSO Booking Search | When available | Official | Local intake, release dates, and custody status |
| Gypsum police services | No booking gallery | Official | Confirm the ECSO service arrangement and town contact |
| Vail Daily Crime | Story-dependent | News | Selected incidents and later developments |
| RecentlyBooked Eagle County | Often | Unofficial | Secondary discovery with delay and omission risk |
| Arrests.org Eagle County | Often | Unofficial | County and agency browsing, never final verification |
Third-party sites have real limits. They can repeat an old charge or skip a release. They may leave out what the court did later. None of them replaces ECSO and the Colorado courts. Mugshots.com's Eagle collection appears to end in 2017. That makes it a weak source for recent Gypsum arrests. No local Busted Newspaper or working Mugshots.zone county page has surfaced either. And a missing third-party card proves nothing about whether an arrest happened.
Note: A displayed booking photo identifies a record subject; it does not prove the alleged offense or present custody.
Find Who Got Busted in Gypsum
A good search follows the record from booking to outcome. The county Viewer accepts first and last names. It also takes booking dates, release dates, and custody status. It documents the percent sign as a wildcard usable anywhere in a name. Booking dates show when intake occurred. Release dates show when county custody ended. Set the status to ALL. Someone who posted bond or left custody fast may not appear in an IN CUSTODY-only result.
- Enter the person's name in the official ECSO Booking Search. Use a narrow likely booking range and status
ALL. - Try the documented
%wildcard if spelling is uncertain, then widen the date range if needed. - Open a likely detail and compare the name and booking date. Check whether ECSO made a photograph available.
- If no result appears, consider citation release, a different custody destination, or a transfer before drawing a conclusion.
- Request the deputy report or existing booking image from ECSO, then use the Eagle court record for the filed case and result.
The Viewer has no separate 24-hour or weekly page. To build a same-day list, put the same day in both booking date fields. Wider windows just take chosen calendar endpoints. For the complete roster and how the feed works, see the Eagle County busted mugshots search. The interface says records are updated regularly, but it promises no hourly schedule and no cap on how far back the online history reaches.
Gypsum Sheriff Records Requests
For a Gypsum deputy report or county jail record, the sheriff is the custodian. Start with the ECSO notarized records release form. Describe the Gypsum location and the approximate time. Name the parties involved. Add a case number if you have one. For the image itself, ask for the "booking photograph in its existing electronic format." That wording seeks a document that already exists rather than one someone would have to create.

ECSO materials list a $5 initial-report minimum. Pages cost $0.25 each. The first hour of retrieval is free, then $30 per hour. Nonstandard reproductions are billed at actual cost. The FAQ allows up to 72 hours for extensive or off-site work. Note: these are sheriff figures, not the county's generic CORA schedule, so ask for a current estimate. Gypsum sets no separate mugshot price or turnaround because the town does not own the county booking image.
The official Town of Gypsum police-services page shows the contract handoff captured below.
That page explains why Gypsum incident and booking questions route to ECSO rather than to some municipal police custodian that does not exist.
When Gypsum Alerts Precede Bookings
A public alert and a booking record answer two different questions. An EC Alert or shelter notice may reach residents while deputies are still on scene. That can happen before anyone is booked. The picture fills in later. An ECSO report describes what deputies recorded, the Viewer can show a qualifying detention booking, and the court docket tracks the legal case. A Vail Daily story about a Gypsum shelter-in-place event shows that sequence well. Still, the alert itself was never an arrest ledger.
Colorado VINE sits in its own category. It sends custody-change notices like release or transfer. It has no mugshot function and never shows the court outcome. ECSO has no confirmed official mobile app, so treat any app claiming to be the Gypsum photo source with doubt. Need a time-sensitive custody answer? Check the Viewer first, then confirm through detention staff at 970-328-8564. The court remains the place for outcomes. Keeping these stages straight prevents an early public-safety post from being read as something it is not.
Note: Alerts explain immediate safety conditions, while booking and court records document later custody and legal events.
Gypsum Arrests Can Transfer
Where an arrest happens and where the person ends up jailed often differ. Eagle County's detention facility is the usual local stop. Regional cases can travel, though. Vail Daily reported on arrests made in Eagle County for a Westminster case, with the suspects then moved toward Adams County custody. That local example shows the trap: an empty Eagle Viewer result does not mean no arrest occurred.
So a Gypsum search comes back bare. What next? Confirm the agency named in a release or case record. Then consider the alternatives: a summons issued, medical care, a juvenile process, or a hold for another jurisdiction. Search a destination agency only when an official fact points there. BOP and ICE locators handle federal custody and show no county booking photos. CDOC applies after a qualifying state corrections placement, not to someone just arrested in Gypsum.
Gypsum Booking News and Context
For Gypsum news, the Vail Daily's Crime and Eagle Valley sections do the heaviest lifting. Coverage runs on events, not a fixed schedule. A single story may pull from the sheriff's office, State Patrol, prosecutors, court filings, or an agency press release. Pictures vary too. What looks like a booking photo might really be a scene shot, a surveillance frame, or a courtesy image from an agency. The Post Independent adds coverage for western I-70 and stories that cross county lines, but it won't stand in for a full Eagle County arrest record.
A news story still helps a records search. It can pin down the arresting agency, the location, and a rough date. That sharpens any official lookup. Still, it can't replace the jail entry or the court outcome. The county's Mugshots in the News page shows how selected reports line up with official records.
Gypsum Busted Records and Outcomes
A photo or a headline never ends the trail. The Eagle-filtered public docket lets you search hearings by date, case number, party, or attorney. Keep one thing straight. A docket event only marks the calendar; it is not the outcome. For the full picture, request a Register of Action, which lists each entry in order with any disposition or sentence order on file.
Three records, three stories. The sheriff's office keeps the original booking entry and may hold the arrest photo. A deputy's report describes the incident from that agency's point of view. The court file carries the filed charges and whatever came later. Some material gets sealed, restricted, or simply isn't available. The absence of a public file tells you nothing on its own.
Don't confuse the court route with the sheriff request, either. A docket search might surface a case number. The Register of Action gives the fuller chronology behind it. Ask each office for the document that actually answers your question, and check its published fees and response terms rather than borrowing one office's rules for the other.
